Colts vs Browns Reddit

Colts vs Browns Live Reddit: The Indianapolis Colts will face their second preseason game tomorrow afternoon against another ascending AFC team, the Cleveland Browns. In their preseason home opener, the Colts will face a far more talented group of players than they did last week, and they’ll have a degree of familiarity with one another after this week’s joint practices.

Preseason Week 2 sees the Cleveland Browns visit the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium on Saturday. After a thoroughly impressive home win over the Washington Redskins in last week’s opener, it’s time for more Browns’ excitement and action.

It’s a big game for several players. Some are trying to cement starting jobs. Others are trying to convince the Browns they belong on the practice squad after the final cuts. Here are nine of them to watch carefully in Saturday’s game in Indianapolis.
Since Brown’s very impressive performance at the Orange and Brown scrimmage a couple of weeks ago, the Browns have created new competition for the big pass-catching tight end. Signing Rico Gathers and dumping Orso Charles, who was the team’s erstwhile fullback and move TE, is a direct challenge for Brown.

His summer has been summed up in one word: inconsistent. As golden and delicious as he was in the exhibition practice at FirstEnergy Stadium, he’s had just as may rotten crabapple performances in practice, with drops, missed blocks and trouble getting free from LBs down the field. It’s often a thankless job being the No. 4 QB when everyone knows the team is keeping just three quarterbacks. Blough sits in that role for the Browns right now, and the man immediately above him, Garrett Gilbert, played pretty well in the Redskins game.

If Blough wants to stick on the Browns, or perhaps the Colts, practice squad, the undrafted rookie from Purdue needs to impress in his limited reps. Blough has authored some very nice moments throughout training camp, showing the ability to make anticipatory throws and put some mustard on the ball when needed. Doing it in a preseason game can only help Blough’s chances of sticking in the NFL.
The Cleveland Browns have not been afraid to ramp up the intensity during training camp, and the locker room has bought into the physical nature of their camp.

But before they stepped on the field for their second preseason game of 2019 against the Indianapolis Colts, the two teams participated in a pair of joint practices. And typically, joint practices lead to fights between both teams.

That was certainly the case between the Browns and Colts, as fights occurred on both days, but Thursday’s practice was highlighted by several fights. And unlike earlier in Browns training camp, head coach Freddie Kitchens was not upset with the fights because he wanted the Browns to stand their ground in Indianapolis.

“Message was received,’’ said Odell Beckham Jr., who sat out team drills for the second straight day. “We came here to impose our will the same way we would do in the regular season when it comes up. We’re not backing down from anybody and I love that mentality. That’s all I’ve ever known. Like I said, you don’t want it to happen but it happens sometimes.” – Odell Beckham Jr. via Cleveland.com

Kitchens has made it known since the start of training camp that they want to be the toughest team on the field each and every week. That is why the team has been practicing in full pads for most of camp.

Kitchens said following the second practice that this will be the way the team always practices, no matter who they’re going against. The head coach said that they will always practice the tempo they expect to have during the season, and it will be up to the opponent to match that tempo.

Now that the Browns are expected to be playoff contenders, they will have to play each opponent with the same intensity. They have a lot to prove in 2019 and cannot back down during games, no matter the situation.
wo playoff candidates meet in preseason on Saturday, as the Indianapolis Colts host the Cleveland Browns.

Last season the Colts began 1-5 before Andrew Luck returned to form and inspired a 9-1 run that took them all the way to the playoffs, where they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in the divisional round.

This year, the Colts are a 14/1 shot to win the Super Bowl and many have identified them as a potential dark horse. Their preseason, however, did not get off to a promising start, as they lost 24-16 against the Buffalo Bills on Thursday.

The Colts looked toothless against the Bills as Luck was out with a calf injury, but the franchise expects him to be available for the regular-season opener.
Cleveland’s fortunes also largely hinge on its quarterback. Last season, Baker Mayfield helped the Browns to a 7-8-1 record after making his NFL debut in Week 3, their most wins in a season since 2014.

In the offseason, the Browns have provided the number one overall pick of the 2018 draft with a new arsenal of weapons, adding star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and running back Kareem Hunt to their roster.

After years of being the NFL whipping boys, Cleveland has its sights firmly set on a playoff berth.

The early signs are promising, with the Browns beating the Washington Redskins 30-10 in their first preseason game even without Beckham Jr. and fellow star receiver Jarvis Landry.
